This experiential workshop will offer user-friendly techniques for dealing with stress and for cultivating our deepest potential for living a full and satisfying life. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a well-recognized approach which has been shown to be effective in reducing stress, depression, and anxiety; enhancing communication and health; fostering courage in difficult situations; and supporting overall well-being. The day will include an introduction to the theory of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, guided instruction in the mindfulness practices used in MBSR (body scan, sitting and walking meditation, hatha yoga), and discussion of the benefits and applications of mindfulness in daily life.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a program of practical, scientifically-supported teachings to reduce stress, facilitate relaxation, and promote physical health and emotional well-being. Inspired by the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn, this retreat offers tools for engaging the demands of our lives, including illness, chronic pain, personal crisis, or the ongoing challenges of a “full catastrophe.” By relating directly with our bodies and emotions, we’ll discover the power of mindfulness to change our lives. Through sitting, walking, and body scan meditation practices- as well as mindful yoga- we will return to our lives better equipped to manage stress.

Do Nothing Retreat is a 4-day silent retreat aiming to bring mindfulness practice into the lives of business leadership members and entrepreneurs. Participants will learn proper meditation techniques in the peaceful environment at Shambala Mountain Center in Colorado. We will be practicing noble silence during this residential, teacher-led meditation retreat. Do Nothing Retreat is suitable for anyone who serves a leadership role in their organization and anyone who is an entrepreneur. Activities include meditation instructions, guided meditation sessions, talks by teachers, and other mindfulness practices. This retreat will help entrepreneurs to bring mindfulness into their lives, their organizations, as well as the lives of those around them.

Stable Mind, Open Heart: A 5-day Silent Mindfulness and Compassion Retreat

Janet presents the practice of peaceful abiding meditation and guidance on how to establish a meditation practice. We often hear that meditation can improve the quality of life, but it can be challenging too. Learn how to recognize and deal with the obstacles. By deepening our understanding of ourselves through the practice of meditation, we more fully become who we already are. In addition, participants will receive:
